Fall in Love With West Michigan-3 Fun Activities to do this Fall
Just because it’s cooling down and getting darker earlier doesn’t mean there is still fun to have outside. Fall in Michigan is one of the prettiest seasons in our opinion, and we love the cooler weather for enjoying the outdoors. Here are a few of our staple fall activities to explore West Michigan.
- Visit an Apple Orchard. Michigan is 3rd in the US for apple production, so that means there are orchards everywhere! Most orchards have a variety of different apples they grow, and they all have different times of peak picking. Even if you don’t want to pick your own apples, there’s usually tons of other activities that happen at apple orchards. Wagon rides, petting farms, donuts, apple cider, hard cider, food, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches are just some of the activities and things to enjoy at apple orchards. - View the Colors Hiking a Trail. West Michigan is home to some absolutely amazing trails and parks! Our favorite way to see the colors is by foot or on bike on some of our favorite trails! Hiking allows you to soak in the colors in a slower and more engaging way than driving. We love relaxing and hearing the leaves under our feet while walking around. Taking time to enjoy nature is good for your mental health too!
- Have some Halloween Fun. Some of the most popular venues in West Michigan go all out for Halloween. Cannonsburg creates a haunted forest experience for kids and adults, John Ball Zoo always has a special exhibit during Halloween and the popular “Zoo Goes Boo” weekend, and Millennium Park has a fun Jack-o-Lantern display you can go explore as well. Go explore some of your favorite places with a twist during the Halloween season!
