Winter is upon us, and Grand Rapids is full of activity! Whether you want to find a good sledding hill, go fat biking, or just walk around downtown, there is fun to be had every where! Here are some of our favorite things happening around Grand Rapids in the winter!
World of Winter-Downtown Grand Rapids! This is an awesome event for all ages! Think Art Prize, but winter edition! It runs from the first weekend of January to March, so there is ample opportunity to see everything! There are also different events happening daily! Snowperson building competitions, food trucks, scavenger hunts, and more! You can find all of the info here!
Sledding, Tubing, Skiing, Snowshoeing, Fat Biking and More! There are so many places to just have some fun in the snow! Here are just a few of the best places to go!
Free Places to Sled-Don’t need a multi-use area? Check out these hills for sledding! Johnson Park and Richmond Park are some very popular ones on the Northwest side! Some of the parks even have free sled rentals if you don’t have a sled!
Multi-Sport Winter Activity Areas-Want more than one winter adventure? Check out Cannonsburg or Indian Trails Golf Course! Cannonsburg is a well-known winter activity hub with downhill skiing, snowboarding, fat-biking, and tubing! They have a lodge with food and beverages for an all-day excursion! Indian Trails Golf Course has been developed over the past few winters to be used in their off-season! You can find trails for fat-biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and hills for sledding or tubing! Most activities are free or available for a small fee.
