Be Ready for Closing Day!

Closing day is coming! You’ve gotten over the hurdle of inspections and appraisals. The date is on the calendar for you to sign the papers, now what?

There are a few things that you can do to be ready for your closing day!

  1. Don’t sweat the paperwork! You may still get some emails from us before closing asking for reverification of employment or other things, but these are just procedural and a way for the banks to make sure that you are good to go. So don’t take it personally if we are asking for paperwork you may have already submitted.
  2. Don’t open another line of credit! This is a big one! You may be in a celebratory mood or planning all of the things you want in your new space, but hold off on making those purchases via a credit card until after you’ve closed. Even then probably a good idea to not over spend as there are some homeownership bills that you might not be used to paying.
  3. Do start planning your move! While you’re waiting, it’s a good time to go through and purge your belongings and start making a moving plan. Whether you get possession of your home on your closing day or 30 days after, putting together a moving plan is a great idea!
