Dream Home Tours-Golf Simulators, Double Decks, and Chicago Style Bar
Parade of Homes Fall 2022 edition has come and gone, but we can’t get over some of the houses we saw this year! There are always incredible builds every Parade of Homes, but some just stand out more than others! These three homes were all so unique in their design and features that it really made for a fun time touring them! Take a look with us at these immaculate builds and what stood out to us!
House #1 Epique Homes. Epique Homes always brings an amazing house to the Parade and this one is no exception! With a more traditional look outside, this home felt inviting and unassuming, but once you got inside, it was anything but! Beautiful warm tones and textures throughout really brought out the mid-century, traditional styling. The kitchen island is massive and the soaring 12-14 foot ceilings make the space feel huge and open! Some of our favorite features were the custom concrete fireplace in the living room, huge daylight windows and sliders everywhere, gorgeous three seasons porch, and, of course, the golf simulator in the basement! We loved how the home felt cohesive yet had custom touches in different areas of the house as well. The fall leaves were so beautiful and the fireplaces all so cozy, we could have cozied up in that living room and stayed awhile!
House #5 56 West Homes and Design, LLC. This was a unique home that was featured twice this year! HBA of Greater Grand Rapids added a new feature to their Parade home lineup by allowing a few homes to be toured as “in-progress” homes, so attendees can see a bit behind the build process. This house was featured in the Spring 2022 as an “in-progress” home and then in the Fall 2022 line-up as a finished home. We love that HBA has added this! We didn’t see it in progress in the Spring, so had no idea what we were getting into when we showed up. This home a jaw-dropper once you pull in the driveway! The exterior feels a bit French Country with modern mountain lodge elements. Once you step inside, it is anything but mountain lodge! Glam would be the perfect word for it! The beautiful custom, curved staircase is a work of art! The “west wing” as we call it is your own getaway with a huge master suite that just keeps going! Of course this house features 56 West’s hidden pantry, but what it connects to we absolutely loved-a beautiful Chicago style bar with access to the three-seasons deck. We could have stayed in this home for a long time, and think you’d agree!
House #6 Spoelma Builders. This home had us intrigued just looking at it’s exterior! Those double-wraparound decks are a show stopper for sure! Once you get inside, it feels so unlike most new builds today! Typically we see huge open floor plans, but this home was quite divided up and felt more like an older build in that respect. Because of the smaller footprint and the two stories, everything was a bit more separated, giving each area a quiet, secluded feeling. We love this home though! That deck is amazing, and we can imagine mornings with coffee, watching the sunset with some wine, or having all the family over and spreading out all over! We were even able to meet the owners and talk with them a little bit about the home! They shared that there used to be a Sears Kit Home built there in the 1940’s that was the place for summer hang outs and vacations! They tore it down two years ago and built this beautiful home! They couldn’t say enough good things about Spoelma Builders either! Check out the video below!
