Whether it is entertainment, adventure, or something different you are looking for, Grand Rapids offers the perfect Valentine’s weekend date night.
For the Theater Lover: Grand Rapids has multiple stages and community theaters to pick from so there is always something good showing! If you’re looking for a big box production, you have to see Hamilton at DeVos Place, the showstopping hip-hop musical about Alexander Hamilton’s life! Or if you want to see some local talent, Grand Rapids Civic Theater is currently showing Shakespeare in Love a romantic comedy about a young William Shakespeare with writer’s block who falls in love with Viola. Either show will be a hit, add in dinner or dessert and it’s a weekend you’ll remember!
For the Romantic: What’s more romantic than dancing the night away? Dress up and head to The Grand Celebration Center for their monthly “Latin Nights.” Every 2nd Friday of the month they host Latin night where you can learn the Salsa and Bachata! Cost is only $10 for the dance lessons! There are also food and drink specials all night long.
For the Crafter: Crafting may be the last thing you want to do, but what about metal smithing? Blanford Nature Center is hosting “Smithing with your Sweetie” events where you can learn the basics of metal smithing and create a keepsake with your partner! This is something unique that you will both enjoy!
For the Gamer: For something a little more relaxed or even a great double date, head on over to House Rules Lounge for a game night! They are Grand Rapids’ first Game Board Lounge with dozens of games you can choose from to play and even buy if you fall in love with it! They have lots of drink options as well!
